Working across painting and illustration, Gwaxng explores suppressed emotion and unspoken language shaped by social expectations, focusing on the tension that exists beneath outward calm and composure.

These feelings surface through a recurring “monster” persona—a symbol of both destruction and release—representing emotions that can no longer be contained. Through repetition and transformation, the exhibition places personal inner experience within a wider social context.
